Tomb Poem by Michael Carlson

Tomb

I am so alone
the sky colorless and gray
My heart of frost so cold
blind I've lost my way

The heavens no longer shine
the wilted trees doth sway
my fearful eyes now dull
as my life fades away

The rains no longer fall
and winds no longer blow
while Eager futures empty
the fruit they could have sown.

The leaves, they do not fall
and The flowers refuse to bloom
whilst a body doth go limp
to fill an empty tomb.
