I sat here tonight,
having a moment of quiet.
You came in,
unannounced though welcome.
I felt you,
as I haven't in so long.
Tears began to fall,
as I embraced you.
I wondered,
can you still feel me?
Can my tears,
still dampen your pillow?
Does my sigh,
still brush against your cheek?
My kiss,
leave you in confusion?
I want to reach out,
yet fear is my accomplice.
Your new life,
dictates reality and respect,
Of the distance
you gave.
So I send these words,
adrift in the wind.
That they may,
settle on your pillow,
whisper across your cheek and
leave you looking my way with a gentle grin.

Read these lines in a single breath. Absolutely superb! 'So I send these words, adrift in the wind. That they may, settle on your pillow, whisper across your cheek and leave you looking my way with a gentle grin' - so touchy and so wonderful!
