Too Di For - Poem by Geoff Smith
Lovers lullaby
rocked gently sleeps
asked to pack my gear
was defo for keeps
You see I'd missed a meeting or two
not really a good place
with the social services who
were sneering in my face
So went I & lived away
my kids still saw me caring
visited each day
my lover no longer sharing
Intermittent firing, intimacy broken
emotional shells kept landing
where many words were spoken
pierced hearts still standing
Hearing sea crash on the shore
riding waves once more by
really don't want to bore
with loves lost lullaby
