Too Late Poem by R.Benjamin Abate

Too Late

Lying together
On a blanket
On the beach
Your back
To me
I run my
Hand along
The waistband
Of your
Pants
Starting at your
Hips
& Down to
Your stomach
You suck
In -
goosebumps-
You Push
Up against me-
My heartbeat
Bashing against
Your back
Knocking on
Your door
'Thump - thump'
You turn
Your head
Back to me
Waiting
For that kiss
Reflections
Of moonlight
On your
Cold cheeks
& I wish
To bite
Into your peach
But I save it
For later-
Only
It was too late
