Too Late Poem by nancy sedky

Too Late

on a deserted island there she lays
'hello &goodbye to ships &boats she says
a smile followed by a tear &that's her day
she lives at a station out of time with no name
waiting for that call of nomad saying come what may!
hundreds of steps in the sand she made
wandering from side to side waiting for her fate
desperately hanging on the stars to guide her way
she sits there wondering why he is so late? ?
year after year her hair turned to grey
one morning she packed her dreams&hopes
turned off the stars &decided to the 1st ship she would say hey
day after day felt like decades...
a wish sealed with a tear &yet no ship passed there
there she rest surrounded by her dreams with the word TOO LATE on her grave.
