Too Much To Ask Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Too Much To Ask

I’ve been hurt so many times
That breaking hearts ought to be a crime.
I’ve been walked on and used before
But I pick myself up and come back for more.
I give all the love, that I have to give
Without happiness you never truly live.
I’ve been around the world, and I still couldn’t find,
The kind of love that brings me peace of mind.
I’ve looked right in front of me, I’ve looked all around,
But the truest love still cannot be found.
All I want is someone to hold, to love, to care,
I need someone to return the love I share.
Returning the love shouldn’t be a difficult task
Please tell me, is that too much to ask?
