Tornado Watching Poem by Wes Thompson

Tornado Watching

our worlds aren't so different
constants aren't so constant
but it's hard to look away
when you're not mine to hold
don't think less of me
if I can't seem to forget
you were the first one
that could tie a tighter knot
than any escape artist
could break before
his breath was spent
and if I'm out of breath
I'll mouth you my apologies
and you'll never take that
away from me
