Tortures Of A Racing Heart Poem by Andrew Degen

Tortures Of A Racing Heart

Rating: 5.0

As I run
I look behind me
at that which chases me
cowering in fear
as I flee
a path unknown to me
rocks unturned
and steps uneven
I wait
feelings hidden beneath me
as I wait in silence
for my wish to come
that which never will be true
can never unveil
as it passes me by
my heart races
like it does around that of which is so noble
so gracious
its generosity uncompared to everyone
unseen by all
except by that which seeks it
that one........
is me
