What Can I Do - Poem by Andrew Degen

A sorrowed soul
a torn heart
battered and bruised
as I stand and watch
bound by chains
unable to help
as the torture continues
hit after hit
blow after blow
as tears rush to fall
as the heart beats slower
until faint
as I think to myself...
What can I do?
