Tortures Of The Past Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Tortures Of The Past

Forty Words:

The frightening rack stretched a body
Thumbscrews broke the thumb
Wheels and boots ~ very wicked
Thankfully we've overcome.

Torture was a disgusting act
Especially performed with the rack
Such techniques are torture's history
When 'hanging' in public was a fact.
