Tough Love Poem by Jacob Nambe

Tough Love

This is not just me being afraid I swear.
I know she is wrong for me.
But this silence, this ache, I want to share it with her.
I want to know how last night's thunder, made her feel. I know, but I want her to tell me anyway.
For the sake of my tomorrow, I have to deny today, my hankering of her.
She is wrong for my tomorrow.
But she is so comfortable, and doesn't want to be disturbed. How can I take that away, and still be caring?
How do I speak practicality to emotions, with a heart of my own?
