Traded Soul Poem by Faleesha Bell

Traded Soul

The wind blew, the earth shook
The night my soul, the devil took.
The tear stained pillow, the shattered dream,
The broken promises, the piercing scream.
On the scroll, my blood did sign.
The night I traded your soul for mine.

The final kiss, our last goodbye.
Our whispers of love, spoken on a sigh.
Our searing touch, one more embrace.
As the tears fell freely down my face.
Then I took your soul from the devil and gave him mine,
As I wrote my name on the dotted line.

The deep of the red, the prick of the pin,
It all simply states, this is the end.
The lightning struck and the thunder began to roll
As the demons of hell began tearing at my soul
But I looked at the scroll, with the blood I had used to sign,
And gave thanks that I traded your beautiful soul for what was left of mine.
