Tranquility Poem by Pete Rivera

Tranquility

Rating: 5.0

Graceful patterns of blue
Among the nighttime sky
Watching the petals
Float silently away

I can taste the cool air
On my tongue
Knowing the difference
Between night and day

Dreaming I am far
From this world
Thinking nothing less
Of anybody

Dreams so far away
I have no regret
About running to them
Because I know
That I belong there

Tranquil dots of scarlet red
Scattered upon the daytime sun
As I watch the raven fly
Away into the distant light
Of the cold, yellow moon

Death doesn't seem far
But I shouldn't think this way
Life should be treasured
Like the blue sky
Of silent day

Letting the butterfly
Rest on my shoulder
Causes me to smile
Because of the beauty
I see in this creature

Dreaming I am far
From this world
Thinking nothing less
Of anybody
