Trapped Within

I look up and feel powerless
Down and find shame.
Glance sideways come guilt,
but backwards shoots pain.

Across to see wanting,
over, see flame.
Under lays adventure,
yet foward in vain.

I love this. I'm not sure what makes it so captivating but it's beautifully written.
