Travelling Alone Poem by Sudam Panigrahi

Travelling Alone

No one is with me
still I move on.
In the hope of a co-passenger,
I lurched forward towards the destination.

Lest someone should board,
Waited I nursing a hope.
Alas, no one got up,
Only one to alight from.

Why did you miss the train?
Where is the love that you promised then?
With tears travelled along
with memory, loneliness and fresh separation.

Keeping the serrated heart fresh,
you may want to see the smithereens afresh.
