Treasures From The Past Poem by Marilyn Lott

Treasures From The Past

Oh so many treasures
Invented many years ago
And at the time they were founded
Folks grew to love them so

The Victrola for instance
To give music to folks’ lives
Every parlor had to have one
A guy could romance his girl or wife

The telephone was an invention
That closed the gap of distance
Needed for so many reasons
An emergency for instance

Then there was a cream separator
So important in butter making
A kitchen must of course
For a woman to do some baking

And the iron was one thing
That made one look much neater
They would put it on the stove
Or warmed it on the heater

Yes, it’s so much fun
To look to the past and see
The beginning of technology
Now so changed for you and me!
