Tree Of Life Poem by Bill Simmons

Tree Of Life

Rating: 5.0

You can take all that there is
But don’t touch the tree of life
All that I have is for you
But if you do one day you will die

I just want to know
I just want to know
Was it her the tree of life
Where once walked two souls so long ago

In the Garden of Eden
Where two worlds collide
I just want to know, I just want to know
Where once walked two souls

Was it her the fire in her eyes
Was it he that burned inside
I just want to know, I just want to know
Was it her the tree of life

Was it pools of green
Or was it pools of eyes of blue
Or was it pools of eyes of brown
That knocked his world right straight down

Was it passion beyond imagination
Such as the world had never seen
Was it her the tree of life
Was it her when they meant that tree

Did he hold her just like this
Did the whole world and all time not exist
I just want to know, I just want to know
Is where we go, where once walked two souls

In the Garden of Eden
From the beginning of all time
Was it the same as I hold you now
As I hold you as mine

Did he see the fire in her eyes
Did he feel the burning, burning inside
I just want to know, I just want to know
Was it like so, where once walked two souls

Did he hold her like I do you
Did he feel a passion so true
Did he know his garden was through
Did he love her like I love you

You can take all that there is
But don’t touch the tree of life
I just want to know, I just want to know
Did time not exist when he held her like this.
