Trees In The Mist Poem by Diana van den Berg

Trees In The Mist

The thick silver-soft mantle
Whispered the silence alive
And she wanted to embrace it
And dance wildly in it,
Pulling it around her,
Barefoot,
Swirling grey curves
In answer to her pirouettes
And grand jeté leaps deep into the mist,
Her rapture interpreting her water-colour heart-speak
With the trees, leafless,
Peeking at her joy-dance,
Unveiling their own pastel forms,
Shyly, in the distance,
For her alone, who sees
Trees too secret for a painting
Or a poem.
