Many moons have lit the sky
since dear aunt Ruth passed on.
Memories of her will never die.
So light and fresh as dawn.
When I was but a child of five,
she told me of God's love.
Her patience when I learned to drive,
came straight from up above.
No other voice could be so warm,
no smile was ere so bright.
A shelter from life's many storms,
she was my guiding light.
I miss the way she held me close,
the sparkle in her eyes.
I see her in a fresh bloomed rose,
and in the cloudy skies.
So much of who I am was Ruth,
too much to let it fade.
This tribute, but to tell the truth,
and difference that she made.
