Triumph Of Hermes Poem by Michel Galiana

Triumph Of Hermes

Here are star, wind and cave and stream, all in a line
But dance appears which is tarantella, madness.
There, where my dream begins, ceases the universe.
What folly has seized me on the brink of decline?

The sky engulfed the path on which had roamed the tramp.
Streets and farmsteads were left hanging on the same void.
I chose to be as merciless as the robbed gods
And of the Chosen ones to discard wreath and rank.

You were not able to bury in songs the lure.
Nor to drown the call for help of this forlorn ship,
In my flesh, like a field, with the seed of the hour.

Trials assigned to me I never strove to skip,
And wander in my night, on a long, obscure trip
In quest of a boundless, dilapidated moor.

HERMES TRIOMPHANT
