True Grit Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

True Grit

Now you see the worm has turned
The pendulum hisses with a long sweeping arc
The censorship did not extinguish this flame
You stand aghast and declare them insane

One generation remained to push back
One that slipped through your iron door
Deaf to the drum beat of the lemming's heart
The awakened dragon will rip your world apart

You opened the door to this mounting wave
This band of pirates from another age
Will raise their flag from this nation's mast
One last hurrah that may be her last
