We Orbit Each Other Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

We Orbit Each Other

Rating: 5.0

In my orbit where I dwell I sometimes cross your path
Your satellites of humor, good will and joyfulness
Sing within my sphere in harmonic electric wonder
Listen to the music of one or countless others

Dark shadows will always linger with time
Ill fortune, greed and heartlessness
So it will always be with humankind
Sadly, seeming, sinful senselessness

We have seen good fortune turn on a dime
Our tear filled eyes have been opened wide
Like all that feel we have known our share
Of realities cold wind that sometimes finds us

So we orbit each other a little more each year
We share the happiness and shoulder the sad
But I find my strength in having you near
To embrace as one in a brave loving spirit

Heart touching...and so on point. We have all had our good and not so good, perhaps some way more than others but if we didn't have one another- -shoulders for comfort - what a hopeless situation it would be. Another core touching write.

Yes and isn't this theme found in your writings? I can't imagine that if you recognize this truth it must be well worded in one form or another in your many poems. I never tire of the many ways in which we can recognize our good fortunes.

Love, understanding, family affection are the saviors of mankind. From these positive feelings we derive our hope n strength to face the odds of life. Lovely piece of writing.

Yes Nosheen there are those that wish us happiness and appreciate our differences and our desires. I have no doubt that you have so many wonderful people that are glad to know you!

We have seen good fortune turn on a dime. Of course you are very right in your expression here. Good will and joyfulness sing within our sphere in harmonic electric wonder. Very, very amazing sharing! ...10

Orbits sometimes cross, and either give or take momentum. Thanks, Edmund

I do not believe that the world is worse than it ever once. That the present is somehow worse than Vikings at the shore or the plague at the door. Nonetheless the heartache is inevitable. We all have our weight to bear.Yet sharing the burden and taking some of the burden is the best we can do as we choose to face oblivion as victims of our mortality or as a band of defiant pirates, cursing fate together.
