True Love Poem by Marien Jacobs

True Love

Will my love ever
Just fade away?
Like the moonlight
When it gives way to dawn?

For the soul inside you
I love far more
Than the body,
Seen by the human eye.

Whoever loves the body,
Loves something which is gilded,
For with time,
The flower also wilts.

But the true things in life
Will never disappear,
Cause no matter where drops evaporate
The water cycle never ends.

As time goes by,
My love for you grows stronger,
Not because of looks I love,
But because of hidden beauty in you!

I will never hear with my eyes,
The beauty that hides inside you,
But rather see with my ears and soul
The beauty deep down inside:
And this opens my eyes to perceive
You.
