True Love Poem by Jace Bemis

True Love

True love doesn't lay in the happy or joyous moments in a relationship, only lust lays in these times. But true love lays where it is unseen from day to day for it lays in the heart not the mind as lust does, true love is most present in the fights and arguments that tear apart most couples. You know it's true love when you look into your partners eyes after you have had the biggest most disgusting fight and say 'I love you with all my heart' and kiss them. The reason most people get married is to try to stretch a moment over a lifetime, but I tell you this, the best marriages are those that don't try to savor the moment, but rather do it to say no matter what happens I am right here by your side, waiting for you to fall down just so I can help you up. While this person does get walked on they are also the happiest because true love always overcomes even the toughest of obstacles. I love you Aubrey with all my heart.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this to my girlfriend who is totally against marriage and doesn't believe in true love. I wrote it to her to help her change her mind and possibly marry me later on down the road.
