The taste in my mouth is neutral
Honey and molasses absent from my palate
So are salt, pepper and vinegar
Like a monk in complete seclusion
My eyes closed and my ears deaf
My tongue relaxing in its cage
My frame loose, my head now clear
From the trappings of daily living
For I sail in from within
In the crevices of my inner tranquillity
On the river of humming quietness
That extinguishes the fire of my spirit
And ices the anger of my mind
Like Christ's true surrender to the cross
I let go of my earthly chains
Let go of what the world thinks of me
Or what I think the world should thinks of me
And like an eagle I fly up and up towards the heavens
Embrace fully the unfolding horizon
Expanding my breath beyond my physicality
To the edge of infinity and beyond
And thus I realize I am truly alive
And frame this poem with a content heart
And a new beginning has dawn upon my being
Like the rise of the sun from the East
Chasing the darkness of my despair
Embracing true love for living
