Truth Poem by Debra Miller

Truth

Rating: 5.0

Heart of mine,
youth denied,
lost in life's confine.
Tormented fear,
my mother's wound,
born upon each tear.
Pills delight
ease
free
wrapped pain,
close my eyes to strife.
Cold steel cut through
coursed veins of blue,
warmth trickled into ice.
Rainbow colors swallowed whole,
dismembered body of my soul,
secret lies in pieces told,
shame fills all truth I hold.
