Trying Hard Poem by Angie Fye

Trying so hard,
To forget my past.

But all of a sudden,
It came running back.

Images too unbearable,
Trying to escape.

No way out,
I start to faint.

Not knowing where to turn,
I enclose myself.

Trying to keep all of it out,
But it still bleeds in.

Causing pain,
And so much agony.

It keeps flooding my mind,
Of distorted images.

I lie there lifeless,
Without a clue.

Trying to find a way out,
But I turn the other direction.

Lying here thinking,
Why did it happen to me.

So all i can do,
Is try to cope.

But it doesn't seem to work,
So I open the bottle.

Looking in the mirror,
But what do I see.

A helpless girl,
Lost in the cloud.

Trying to escape,
But it's way too late.
