Tuckered Ticker Poem by Nellie Isabelle Steward Cooper

Tuckered Ticker

I hear tell that youse have a tuckered ticker

Being plumb tuckered out, (dad gum it-
to all heck) .... tied as can be

But it seems that most of us have a
tuckered ticker.... at some point....

My friend....as we approach the end

The end of what...? ? ? ... one may
exclaim or proclaim...

This journey... through life which is but
a quick flash of lite in a forever nite

And all this time you thought you were
a permanent fixture in this here place

As you present such a sad face....u silly goose
but geese are such majestic and serious animals

Flying high in the sky... in the sweet by-n-by
there is no understanding it... but we must try...! ! !
