Tumbleweed Poem by Michelle Tiddy

Tumbleweed

Tumbleweed, tumbleweed
Is it honest, or is it greed?
Do you really love me,
This me, with a shattered heart?

Is it real, or not?
Shall I collect the forget-me-nots?
Will I make a dream come true?
Could you dance amongst the blue?

This fly that's buzzing
Around my head, tells me his thoughts
Of dread, of abandon, of dillusion
Of wrong place, wrong time

Or shall we sail, you and I
On a cruise, to who knows why?
To a place, where we are lost
Beneath the seaweed of life...

Would you hold me upon the deck
Shelter me from the elements
Make me feel like Kate, awake
Not ready to jump in the brine?

Not sure, are you mine?
Or do you belong, to a million others
Dancing in words and dreams
And covers, that aren't real?

You need to show me, really
What you feel, not hiding,
Not anything, just you, is it true?
Could you do this? Mmm, not sure

I've held on to the mast
Set the sail, before love had passed
Felt the beaten weather upon my face
Now it is your turn, to show grace...

I am me, honest and true
Do you understand that, do you?
That someone could be 'just them'
Because they are real, lovely...

Don't know, this rambling rhyme
Shouldn't take much of your time
But if you know me, understand
Then please, hold my hand...
