Twenty Thirteen Poem by Eric Bult

Twenty Thirteen

Rating: 5.0

Now as the year moves 'exit from stage left'
The younger player waiting at stage right
Prepares to enter, clearly now bereft
Of any circumstance to cause us fright.
Thus soon we welcome 'twenty and thirteen'
With hope and expectation, though we know
How previous actors in the part have been
So shocking we've been pleased to see them go.
But we also have parts in life's great play,
Thus have responsibility to learn
Our moves: we're on stage constantly but may
Have lost the plot. That's what I now discern.

If we all join in concert this fine play
Will bring the house down every blinking day!
