Twenty-Three Minutes Of Looking Up Poem by Troy Cochran

Twenty-Three Minutes Of Looking Up

There's a lightbulb in the stairwell needs changing,
But the ladder won't walk up but three steps and gets the shakes,
Afraid to hit its head on the ceiling;

And even then will only stand still on a level ground
And needs another hand to hold it up;

Leans both ways like it's uncertain
That the lightbulb's really gone out:
Maybe it just needs waking up.

I flip the switch two, three times to make certain.

It just looks down at me
Like and upside-down question mark,

Sayin': 'What's up? '
