Twin Hills Poem by Patrick Monamodi

Twin Hills

Two proud hills stand side by side,
Pointing skyward with slender pride.
Climb gently to the rocky crest,
Slide down smooth with whispered breath,
Heading south into the field,
Where strength and caution both must yield.

Step pass the gate, no need to run,
They'll wash your head when you are done.
Stand firm upon your feet again,
Enter calm through love's terrain.

Sit easy, brother, take your slice
The melon sweet, the calabash ripe.
But leave some milk for those who stay,
When the horn sounds, they'll drift away.
