That Side Of The City Poem by Patrick Monamodi

That Side Of The City

Is it raining on that side of the city—
raindrops keeping their small, secret rhythm

your breathing in the dark,
the soft space between one thought of me and the next.

Perhaps it is only weather.

Or perhaps, tonight,
the distance is simply
another way of me touching you.
