Two Am Blues - Poem by Geoff Smith

Two A.M. blues
needing to behold
Discarded shoes
bearfoot upon my soul

Hold me and tell me
that the night will end
Where dark ceases to be
and we will spend

Time slipped under naked sheet
so we can share all the heat
Of human connection
or random selection

Cuddles what we need
without complexities of seed
or exotic erotic jealous love
holding friendship up above

You're a heavy breather
but sleep so light
Don't wanna wake yer
but what a sight

So near yet so far
you're my brightest star
Shining on me nightly
while i'm so unsightly

Breathing so sweet
till breaking dawn
you are so neat
My friend be my 2AM lawn

Topic(s) of this poem: blues, friend, love and friendship
