Two Blind Poets

Wrote a poet about his most beloved:
Not the earth which did bear him so long.
Or the wind that cheered him when down.
Or the water that quenched his thirst.
Or the trees that gave him food and shelter.
But about the moon that did him nothing.

Wrote a poet about his most beloved:
Not his mother who gave him life.
Or his father who raised him when young.
Or his friends who stood by him in bad times.
Or the many others who helped him in life.
But about a girl who just passed by.
