Two Hours Early Poem by Justine Camacho Tajonera

Two Hours Early

The world threw me
two whole hours
with sunlight
streaming down
my face
and a bagel waiting
in the toaster
oven.
I had seven waking
dreams
and a prayer
in my heart
that filled
each moment
to overflowing.
As I drank
chilled water
with the breakfast
my sister
made for me
I found that
I could not
ask for
more.
