Two Leaves Poem by Thomas Hooker

Two Leaves

Rating: 4.8

Between mountains
aspen lose their hearts
below the melting ice
beneath the snow,

two golden leaves loosen,
traveling downstream together,
turning with the current,
following gravity between

stones, flowing together
they travel close to each other,
finding their own identity,
suddenly one gets caught,

captured by a branch,
held in suspension
as the other gold
leaf travels alone,

missing his companion
he floats, spinning
in circles, finding his
own way to ground.
