Two Pairs Of Eyes*
Mnemosyne, give me sleep!
Two pairs of eyes
Haunt me through the night!
A pair of eyes
Fixed in a face
But how cold and icy
Is the stare!
And the other
Glows, dazzles
But not a face
Not a face appears behind it
All night. All night
Two pairs of eyes haunt me.
