Two Quarters Poem by Walter C. Edwards

Two Quarters

Two quarters on my eyes,
white sheet drawn on Christmas day,
death hands pound at the door,
no one was able to answer him,
no soul left to reap,
gone to heaven high,
worldly treasure I say good bye,
earthly deeds I enjoyed,
good son of the lord was I.
