Ugly Poem by Anamika Goswami

Ugly

There was a little girl once, who was named ugly.
Everyone thought her ugly, and in the mirror she saw herself ugly.
No kids would play with her and no one would sit with her.
Then magic happened...

One day a new girl came to her class.
This new girl didn't know that the little girl was ugly.
So she went and sat with the little girl and played with her.
The next day, the little girl was ugly no more...

There was a young woman once, who was named ugly.
Everyone thought her ugly, and in the mirror she saw herself ugly.
No one would dance with her and no one would romance with her.
Then magic happened...

One night a sailor came to town.
He didn't know this young woman was ugly.
He went out with her and he made love to her.
The next day, the young woman was ugly no more...

God created each in his own image,
but we look at shape and size.
And when we learn to love their soul,
we create beauty even in God's eyes.
