Ugly Face Poem by Hazel Mc Taggart

Ugly Face

Do you like looking at my face?
My eyes and my smile,
They are ugly.
Yet how could you love me,
And tell me I’m beautiful.
I’m a freak,
Someone who has something unique.
Loved ones,
Say I’m special.
Annoying people,
Shout crude names at me in the street.
Names that make me cringe,
Snaps me out of my pretence.
I’m not pretty,
I never have been.
Compliments are flattering,
But they’ll never fill this hole.
Never take away the voices in my head,
That I hear,
Whenever I see my reflection.
I have a beautiful body and hair.
I have a beautiful personality and soul,
I have an ugly face!
