Unable Poem by Kev Elmer

Unable

Trying to fly with these broken wings,
unable to get off the ground.
Suffering within self pitty,
unable to mutter a sound.

Burnt by the flame, my wings still burn.
unable to grasp this air.
Bending over in sorrow,
thinking I'm unable to care.

Forever chasing my inner glow,
unable to find its release.
Always feeling deceived,
unable to feel at peace.

Waiting to be free,
unable to break these chains.
I'll be here waiting for you,
unable to spill your remains.

So this is my curse,
unable to take life with both hands.
Living each day as it comes,
unable to see where it lands.

My hatred in myself shines through,
unable to find some cover.
Explosions from within,
unable to finally smother.

finding a dark corner
unable to carry on.
I'll wimper and fade away,
unable to see me when I'm gone.

Breathing out, I exhale,
unable to breathe in.
Letting my life slip by,
unable to see the could of been.
