Unborn Gift Poem by Eric Fitzgerald

Unborn Gift

Rating: 5.0

There's so many things I'll teach you,
so much advise to give.
My baby boy is on the way,
Another reason to live.

I'll be there for your first steps,
and cook you all your meals.
Read your bedtime stories,
and take off your training wheels.

I'll teach you how to play catch,
and the way to hit a ball.
Be there to pick you off the ground,
if ever you should fall.

Always honest and never lie,
with other values true.
Like the sun in the morning sky,
I'll always be there for you.

When its time for you to drive,
the keys are in your hand.
Be responsible and learn,
and try to understand.

The ladies start to catch your eye,
be a gentleman with class.
Even though its sometimes true,
that nice guys finish last.

Be there for you when times are tough,
and when she breaks your heart.
Just know that i can fix for you,
what ever falls apart.

I want to buy your first beer,
even though it won't be.
Just pretend and go with it,
do this one for me.

Your all grown up, a new life to start,
your packed up and say goodbye.
Just give your old man one more hug,
I'll try hard not to cry.

In life I've taught you so much,
but there's more for you to learn.
Someday you'll have your own son,
and this favor you'll return.

As you grow older never forget,
the good times that we had.
And always know no matter what,
I'll love you cause I'm your dad.
