Unchained Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Unchained

It comforts me to know that where you are:
Is somehow close, despite the distance due;
Content enough because beholding you:
Became within my grasp, my shooting star.
Then evanescent hope so soon did mar,
Oh, too initial void was born anew;
And though the severed miles between are few:
Can't help but feel that I'm more farther far!
I count yet on the fact you'll call again,
If even for—Alas! —but once a year:
For granted, I in such poor state remain;
Yet things have changed, and now my spring of pain:
Why, nigh enough I'll be no longer here,
And will have to my borrowed heart unchain!
