Uncharted Shores - Poem by Bernice Brigham

Walk in my dreams with me
Along the unchartered shores
of my heart;
Help me to find the reason
For my longing, for my pent-up
Yearnings, my gropings
To align with life;
My effort is, to make the energy of
living in the present - an anchor
not to soar off in a dream -
To escape the pressing reality.

The grail dances behind the veil
Glimpsed dimly with no sure form
The spirit then - the quality unknown
Its fathoms unexplored
As they are ever developing
changing and unpredictable,
The feelings falter
A book half read and the end
The middle of the chapter
