Unconditional Poem by Cory Fox

Unconditional

At every dire turn
Please don’t fade away
Oh, when will I learn?
Just wait one more day…

Flames to ashes; drowned away in the rain
A stillborn love left in a world of pain
Doomed from the start, tell me, what is the gain?

This lonely heart can
Bleed me dry,
Wonder why?
Still much better than
Not to try

How could I know that when I held your heart
In me, you’d forever become a part
So carry me sweetly back to the start

You unclench your hand
I swallow my pride
Feel love’s first tug and
Never say goodbye
