Under The Vast, Deep Skies, One Upon One Poem by Mohammad Younus

Under The Vast, Deep Skies, One Upon One

Under the vast, deep skies, one upon one,
With suns that blaze by day, and smiling moons,
And stars that twinkle in the night's embrace;
Through snow-capped peaks, and meadows green,
Across the moors and plains, the arid lands,
The deserts void of water, barren, dry—
Nowhere can one find one like the praised One,
Who is, without a doubt, God's chosen first;
The light upon his radiant face remains,
Forever present, pure, and ever new.
He is the one who rightfully is called,
The final prophet, mercy for the lost;
A stream of spirit, flowing with life's grace,
From which pure waters spring as at the start.
He is the font of peace, of love, of joy;
He is Muhammad, blessed and praised be he.
With all my heart and mind, I vow to love
His golden teachings now and evermore,
Devoted, as a true and faithful lover.
