Under The Willow Poem by Guess Who

Under The Willow

Rating: 5.0

There I was Alone under the willow
Peacefully only we and my shadow
We were there talking my past
Solving the problems that would never last
Discussing subjects some dull and some fancy
Discussing my wisdom and my lunacy
Wondering what's good about life?
Why is it a reason for us to strife?
Unfortunately my shadow isn't as wise
Couldn't even measure my problems size
But after all he's my partner
He's my image but a bit darker
Wish he had a more positive thinking
Instead of such negative helping
While I talk about loyalty and trust
You talk about envy and lust
While I talk about the one above
You interrupt me discussing love
Knowing that i believe it is wrong
Even though you always repeat the same song
I don't understand our body trio
Me, my Shadow and The GuessWho
Though we don't really go along
We being together makes us strong
Each with his weird interest
Each alone in no more than dust
But now It's me and the dark side
Always giving him a place to hide
For me light is just crucial
For him light is the most fatal
People ask me: Why is he your friend?
They forgot that he's the one standing behind
The one that never left or tried to bend
My heart he used to always mend
The one that swallows me when it's dark
The one that saves me from the night
Unfortunately I can't provide help when there's light
Well my shadow is part of me
It's rare to find one made of three
Three personalities make me:
A dark side looking for an identity
A wise one looking for ideas to write
A free one looking for arguments to demand his right
Sorry to say this dear Shadow: We're strange
But never mind we'll never change
As long as we support one another
As long as we live peacefully together
Nothing shall threat us or cause any harm
We're wise, We're free, We're mystery that's our charm......
