Under The Willow Trees Poem by Madame Velvet

Under The Willow Trees

Rating: 5.0

under the willow trees, by the riverside
did a boy and a boy meet
under the guise of herding cattle
would they meet, coyly smiling at each other
the trees swayed in harmony with the wind
as they ran to dive into the river

the river would gurgle with excitement as they dived into its blue cold but soothing embrace.
the bubbly water enveloped them as their caramel and chocolate skins embraced, as their kinky hair soaked in the rivers moisture
as their young hearts were soothed by the purity of the water as they kissed.

under the willow trees, by the riverside
did a boy and a boy lie under the cool shade
their caramel and chocolate skins glistening with water droplets on their bodies, as if Mother Nature had showered them with her tears
tears of joy and sadness at their union.
the shade enveloped them as they talked and dreamt of a life together
a life together faraway from the village, far from the partriarchal
expectations; far from it all, a place far away where they did not need the willow trees to hide and express their love.

under the willow trees, by the riverside
did a boy meet up with a boy
under the willow trees a long time ago
did i meet up with my lover
as we embraced by the water, enveloped by the willow trees
the life we dreamt of, did we have, the faraway place did we go to
alas little did we know that we would go those places away from each other, away from my lover's soothing kisses, away from his embrace
away from it all.

for under the willow trees, did we learn of what it meant to be us
under the willow tree did we learn the true definition of love and sacrifice
for under those trees under their shade did we learn that
me and my lover were to dream AND fantasize of a life together
but in reality
under the willow trees, did our union live and die
