Underneath Your Lovely Words Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Underneath Your Lovely Words

Underneath your lovely words
It's not so hard to notice
One needn't be so smart
To know you try to do your part
And kindess you always put before your cart
No matter how cruel life is or how tart
You go out of your way for others
See kind things in them like artists see art
You're a special lady
Told by the words and wisdom you impart
Its safe to say
because you've been this way from the start
You're gracious
And from many others you stand apart
Unlike those who brag and boast
Some more than most
Who selfishly toot their own horn
But such garments you haven't worn
You don't keep score on a chart
Just wanted to say that I noticed
And learned something from you
You've got a good heart!
That's such a beautiful thing..
Money can't by that at the mart
